Ipswich Sporting Lunch Club was founded in January 2015. Supported by seven organisations in the Ipswich area we plan to host two lunches a year. Our Corporate Sponsors and other companies book tables of ten at the lunches. The events aim to provide excellent sport related speakers, a great atmosphere and a wonderful networking opportunity.
The money raised through our lunches support SportsAid (the National Charity for Sport) who working with the governing bodies of 75 sporting disciplines, support over 2,000 talented young sports people each year. SportsAid ensures the right people get the right help at the right time.
Our next lunch will be held at Wherstead Park on the 24th February. Our guest speaker will be Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards is a British skier who in 1988 became a universal celebrity after becoming the first competitor since 1929 to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping. He was already the British ski jumping record holder, world ranked 9th in amateur speed skiing and a stunt jumping world record holder after jumping over 6 buses. He finished last in both the 70m and 90m events. In 2016 a film chronicling Eddie’s life story was releasedBOOK NOW
